Harmony Grove - Think Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood and Sesame Street meet Music Education.

Harmony Grove is a very special musical village, home to Lisa and The Children's Music Workshop, the town's local music lesson studio. Every show, Lisa and her crew of puppet instructors strive to enlighten their students about a particular instrument or musical concept. Each episode centers on one of their music students, challenged by a practice, performance, or personal issue. In either case, Lisa and her friends gently guide the children to discover the answers and solutions that work best for them. The town of Harmony Grove is musically marvelous, and every show takes full advantage of its magical nature. Following are some of its unique assets…

  • The Children's Music Workshop: the local music lesson studio where Lisa and her crew of puppet instructors teach the neighborhood children about music. With original songs like "Every Good Boy Does Fine" and "Clap That Rhythm", children learn the basic fundamentals of music theory in a remarkably memorable way.

  • ATM: The Animated Travel Machine This marvelous transporter allows Lisa and her students to traverse the globe. In this fun green screen adventure, the ATM transports them to various ports of call; exposure to world music is the intent here.

  • Symphony Hall: Each episode, students discover the joy off watching live musical performances at Harmony Grove's Symphony Hall. Many different genres of music are explored here and there are often special appearances from celebrity musical guests, eager to impart important life lessons.

  • Professor Pythagorus' Lab: Where science and music meet - With the help of Lisa and her students, Professor Pythagorus and his lab mouse Squeaker perform experiments to demonstrate the scientific principles inherent in music.

  • The Book of Composers: A very special book can be found on a shelf in the corner of the professor's lab. When opened, a Fantasia-like narrative about a famous composer comes to life on its pages.

  • Percussion Tree Park: This beautiful park, located in thee center of town, is home to Mrs. Percussion Tree, a magical tree who grows percussion instruments. She's always ready to impart the perfect advice, through song of course, and Lisa and her crew visit her often.

With all its warmth and charm, Harmony Grove creates the perfect venue for educating viewers in music and provides the ideal platform to teach children about many emotional, social, and developmental issues as well. Thirteen episode treatments are available on request.

Starship Harmony and The Song Catcher Kids—a spec script

Dr. Dissonant, thwarted musician and inventor of “The Demusicator”, is determined to rid the universe of music, and the planet Earth is his next target! Dr. D’s home planet, Rhythmo, has commissioned the Starship Harmony to Captain Coda and his demusicated crew and has sent them to warn Earth of its impending doom. Major Minor, Dr. Dissonant’s second in command, has dispatched their two lackeys, Dim and Aug, to stop the starship, but Coda has already made contact with three junior high students and their music teacher. His offer—to help to the people of Earth archive their music history on Starship Harmony’s databanks. Everyone agrees to form “The Song Catcher Kids”, a music network where the people of Earth can download their music for safe keeping. As Captain Coda and his crew watch the data that comes streaming in, they (and the viewers) are treated to interviews with celebrity musicians, classic music videos, compositions by famous composers, expositions on a variety of instruments, even music lessons, all of which help to reeducated them in the truly universal language of music.
